** COURSE DESCRIPTION

INTRODUCTION

Windows Introduction presents the beginning concepts of Windows. Students will get started in Windows, work with the desktop, use online help, use My Computer and Windows Explorer, work with folders, files, and shortcuts, use the Control Panel and other accessories, use Internet Explorer, and use Web integration with the active desktop.

Prerequisite: None.

INTERMEDIATE

In Windows Intermediate, Students will use Outlook Express/Outlook to send and receive e-mail messages, use advanced file management features to speed up their work and protect files, use registered file types to associate files with programs, and use other advanced features to streamline the use of Windows. Students will also use passwords and enable user profiles that allow other users to share the same computer, use network features to simplify the task of accessing network resources, work with system tools to optimize system performance, and maintain Windows using various wizards to keep the operating system running efficiently. Finally, students will explore other Windows features such as the Task Scheduler and FrontPage Express.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows or equivalent course knowledge.
